TOURNAMENT OF BANDS COMES TO WILD WOOD

APRIL MADNESS!


The National Judges Association Tournament of Bands Indoor Championships will be held in the Wildwoods Convention Center Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5.
The Tournament of Bands will feature performers ranging from middle school through college level and encompassing marching bands, indoor guard, majorette, percussion and dance teams as well as jazz bands. Units from seven states will compete in the four-day competition. States represented include Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia.
A variety of unique styles are incorporated into each performance, which get more creative every year. All classes will be judged on the following criteria: Quality of Sound, Balance/Blend, Interpretation, Musicality, Rhythm, Solos/Improvisation and Repertoire. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be presented to the winners of each group in each class. 
The Tournament of Bands is one of the largest educational competitive band organizations in the country. Founded in 1972 by the National Judges Association, it has grown to more than 400 active school and independent organizations. As part of their commitment to education, scholarships totaling more than $100,000 have been awarded to graduating senior students for use at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Performances will also be held at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center in Cape May Court House, NJ on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4.
