Post Card from Behind The Scenes At The AC Boardwalk Comic Con

Dear Atlantic City, (and Pleasantville, SJ, Philly and NYC)

When I was about 11 years old my Aunt Hazel called my mom and asked if I would like to attend The Creation Comic Book Convention in Philadelphia.
From that day to this I have preached the word of Comic Cons as something everyone should attend.

Pop culture may have convinced you it's just a nerd fest....(it is but there's more.)
The truth is even the most casual comic art lover, sci-fi fan or little kid of any age will have a ball at a well run Comic Con.

Having had exclusive AC Beat Back Stage Access to Boardwalk Comic Con happening today May 15th through Sunday May 17th I have to say...this should be one of my favorites.
A New Contender

I have had the honor of attending and covering just about every Wizard World Philly Con and every Mew York comic Con. For the ACBC to be a first year con they are ready to rock with the vets.
Looking around last night behind the scenes I can say that this con will not feel like a rookie con.
Here's the short order stats.

ACBC will be better than Wizard World Philly this year.
I love the people that put WWP together and I get star treatment and access. However, putting myself in the place of a veteran con goer, the one thing missing each year is Marvel, DC and some of the other bigger publishers showing off.
If you follow me on facebook. You already know that MARVEL will be here.

ACBC is not quite as JUGGERNAUT at The New York Comic Con coming in October.
That Con I am proud to say is becoming the east coast version of The San Diego Comic Con.

The San Diego Com is thee most awesomest con in the world.

The NY Con is big, huge and has MORE than the human mind can wrap itself around and takes more than a day to see everything.

While the ACBC is not that frikkin big....don't worry.....it's just the right size for 3 days of fun for every one.

The GoodThis con offers the chance to take fan pictures with every Bat Mobile from
the 1960's and Adam West to the un coming film with Ben Affleck.
Now warning 90% of pictures will require you to dig into your wallet.

Did I mention Marvel will be here with a inter active trailer. I have not seen what they have planned here but at other cons I have gotten an Avengers I.D and had a fight scene with Captain America and Spider Man.

Costume Play. It's always Halloween at a comic con. So whether you just happen to have a spare Star Fleet uni or your daughter loves to wear her princess dress....this is the event for you!

You can also look forward to work shops, special events, meeting and speaking with sci-fi and comic legends.
Important Info.Although billed at The Boardwalk Comic Con...this con takes place at The New Convention Center by the train station and not boardwalk hall!

Again you may run into a Will Shatner while here...but most photos with actors and TV and Film props will cost some money (I never had liked this and never will. I honestly think it should be part of the ticket.)

Parking is either pricey or tricky.

Come with an open mind and have fun.
I am hoping this con is a smash and that next year's is even bigger.

Look for more pics and goodies and video all weekend.
