The Valentine Beat: 5 Songs That Will Inspire Love

DJ Able One has been a top notch DJ for more than 10 years.

For longer than that Able also know as Shawn Wright has been a crate digger and man that has both archived classic sounds and helped spread the word about new artists on the scene.

So when we asked Able One for 5 Slow Jams for this Valentine's Day (the night before he spins at Sam's Bar and Grille)...Able One did not disappoint!

1) Lotus Flower by Wale fea Miguel. This is quality rap song that has the right combination of mature conversational lyrics from Wale and exceptional singing my Miguel. Wale's opening line of "I want to enjoy the luxury of not knowing each other" is a great opening. Wale expressing in interest in his lady without any syrupy sweet cliché lines. In a masculine manners he sincerely expresses his interest and affections to his lady and back up by Miguel's tenor/falsetto it works. the track is a head nodder that is simultaneously mellow enough to put a move on your girl all at the same time.

2) Be Here by Raphael Saadiq fea D'Angelo. This song is one of the finest male duets of Neo Soul R&B you can set the mood to. Both bring distinctive vocals and lyrics to an infectous beat. Romantic sentiment in the vocal delivery and the bass groove is killing. D'Angelo closes the song with some notes that will get your woman open.

3) Love Thirst by Jean Grey. Vocally, rically and track production, this is an all round SEXY record. The whispery singing/sexy kitten ad lids through the song and on the hook is addicting. Jean drops some lyrics that are beautifully aggressive, virtually cinematic.

4) Take Off The Blues by The Foreign Exchange fea Darien Brockington. The lyrics paint a picture dude telling his woman to let him ease her mind of the everyday stress and to relax enjoy a shared moment. the grove is enough for close two-step in the lounge spot...or at home in the living room.

5) Do You Feel Me by Anthony Hamilton. This song has that Al Green and Otis Redding feel to the point that you would thing that this song came out in the 60's. The dude's southern drawl is a throwback to a time when you men could sing like their heart was tearing in a manly manner. Nothing soft except for the sentiment of emotion. Nothing wrong with that.

Happy Valentine's To All and neither The AC beat Nor Shawn Wright are responsible for any children born as a result of this list.

The Arts Beat: Court Yard Of Miriacles

The world premiere of an English-language production of The Courtyard of Miracles by Iakovos Kambanellis is coming to THE PAC at Richard Stockton College. Known for his honest and compelling portrayal of contemporary working-class Greek life, Kambanellis sets his drama in a typical Athenian residential courtyard where each of the eleven characters waits for the fulfillment of a personal “miracle.” One of the most prominent Greek writers of the 20th century, Kambanellis has been compared to Arthur Miller or Tennessee Williams for his use of social realism. Stockton Theatre’s production of this modern Greek masterpiece will be directed by guest director Martha Frintzila, whose credits also include the Greek National Theatre and her own Baumstrasse studio in Athens.

Playwright Chase Jackson This play is regarded as a masterpiece of contemporary Greek drama.  Kambanelis is often compared to Arthur Miller or Tennessee Williams for his use of social realism.”

Sports Beat: The Sea Hawks Snatching Defeat Out Of The Jaws Of Victory

WHY IS THIS MAN'S WHOLE TEAM CRYING?
By Coach Curtis

I hope that Russell Wilson the man will be able to rebound and recover and LEARN from the loss he CAUSED his Seattle Seahawks in Sunday Night's Super Bowl.

This WILL absolutely be the moment that will define what type of man and player he will be moving forward.

THE SEAHAWKS LOST THE SUPER BOWL BECAUSE RUSSELL WILSON PUT HIMSELF ABOVE THE TEAM. HE WAS MORE CONCERNED WITH AN MVP TROPHY THAN THE SUPER BOWL WIN.

Now that may seem harsh but the proof as they say is always in the pudding.
The Seahawks have the best running back I've seen since Emmett Smith.
All they had to do was punch the ball in.

REALLY, if Russell wanted to be the hero he could have run the ball in himself.

Wilson learned a lesson they teach in pee wee foot ball.
THERE ARE ONLY TWO GREAT PLAYS ...SOUTH PACIFIC AND GET THE BALL OVER THE GOAL LINE.

__________________________

I personally believe that Russell Wilson as miserable as he will be the next 365 days would have possibly been more so if his team mate Marshon Lynch had won The MVP....

WHY?

While I have never met Wilson. I do know people, athletes, employees that seem to set themselves apart from the people that help them succeed.

Just like when Muhammad Ali was the greatest fighter, there were other fighters like Floyd Patterson that felt Ali was too proud.
Patterson said himself that he (Patterson) didn't feel Ali should be the champ and believed it was his job to take Ali down a peg.
Likewise, there are black people in 2015 that feel that Marshawn Lynch should show more "thankfulness." And while he won't say it...I would not be surprised if Russell Wilson was one of these people  that felt Lynch was "too proud" before last night.
Last night it was not the "controversial negro" that blew the big game.
It was "the good ole company" man that snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Lynch did his job and it was Wilson that erased what was an amazing Super Bowl performance for his team and his Running Back.

Somewhere Donavan McNabb and Terell Owens must feel more of the sense of de ja vu watching the end of Sunday's game than I did. In fact if you switch out McNabb for Wilson and Owens (a wide receiver) for Lynch....they all lived the same Sunday Night...only ten years apart.

For The Atlantic City Beat! I'm Coach Curtis.
