Word has just come down that former Mayor of Pleasantville Mr. Ralph Peterson Sr. has passed away at age 81.
As a young man I learned a lot from Mayor Peterson.
Mayor Peterson had a way of dealing with you that was fatherly but respectful.
There were times when I may not have followed the correct protocol but rather than take it personally, Mayor Peterson would correct my mistake in a way that said....THIS IS THE WAY YOU DO THIS YOUNG FELLA.
My first meeting with Mayor Peterson was when my mother put together our church's first Black History Program....She invited Mayor James Usry of Atlantic City and Mayor Peterson of Pleasantville and some other high profile politicians.
They all showed up and were amazing contributors.
Mayor Peterson leaves an outstanding legacy to the city of Pleasantville and South Jersey.
I and my family will be praying for The Petersons.
I hope in some small way.....The Little Wellness Arts Center is a positive part of Mayor Peterson's Legacy.
